The 2026 Germany away shirt debuted in a friendly against Switzerland, and its launch has raised a few eyebrows. Blue? Really?

The truth is, the designers did their homework on this one.

The navy traces back to 1954, when Sepp Herberger and Adi Dassler were rocking matching sweaters before West Germany lifted their first World Cup. Even Beckenbauer was at it in '74. So this isn't some random design decision. Call it a lucky colour.

Whether that luck rubs off on the 2026 squad remains to be seen, though if you ever get your hands on one of these shirts straight off a player's back, signed and all, you'd be holding a little piece of that history.

Jamal Musiala will run him close though. Still only 23 and a player who has produced genuinely special moments at the very highest level, his shirts have always been a collector favourite.

Florian Wirtz was the creative engine behind Bayer Leverkusen's historic unbeaten title season. He brings the level that saw Liverpool pay huge money for the forward to the international stage and we're expecting these shirts to be huge.

Antonio Rüdiger, Manuel Neuer and Leroy Sané all add experience and star power to a squad that has real depth at every level.
